Reflection
Today was generally structured and disciplined, especially in the morning and afternoon. Maintaining the detox for four consecutive days is a strong indicator of improving self-control.
However, the evening session was affected by technical setup issues. This is a recurring pattern. While environment setup is necessary, it is consuming a disproportionate amount of time without clear outcomes.
You need to start treating environment issues as a limited-time task, not an open-ended activity.
Key Adjustment
From tomorrow:
- Limit environment troubleshooting to 60 minutes maximum
- If unresolved, document the issue and switch to lab platforms (TryHackMe, PicoCTF, OverTheWire)
Progress in cybersecurity comes from practice, not perfect setup.
Tomorrow’s To-Do List
Priority Tasks
- Complete one Information Security assignment
- Practice TryHackMe – 1 hour
- Focus on PicoCTF (final day of the competition) — prioritize solving as many challenges as possible
Wins of the Day
- Maintained Day 4 of digital detox
- Completed 1 hour of focused cybersecurity practice
- Stayed consistent with university classes and learning routine
