I'm way too hard on myself.
"How hard are you on yourself?
I compare myself to grown men running multimillion dollar businesses and feel behind."
Read this post on insta👆🏻.
And I guess that's me right now.
I'm way too hard on myself.
Here’s the truth I had to tell myself today:
I’m comparing my Chapter 1 to their Chapter 20.
They spent years posting stuff that flopped. Taking Ls I don’t see. Starting with $0 and no clients too.
I’m just seeing the highlight reel.
Feeling behind only makes sense if we’re on the same timeline.
We’re not.
They started years ago. I’m starting now. Of course they’re ahead.
Comparing like that does 3 things:
1. Kills your motivation to post. “Why bother, I’ll never be them”
2. Makes you aim for their problems, not yours. I don’t need to solve 10M scaling. I need my first 2 clients.
3. Makes you hate the process. Every post feels “not good enough” instead of “one more rep”
So I’m switching it.
Compare yourself to you 30 days ago.
Did you post more? Understand the game better? Get clearer on your offer?
If yes, you’re winning.
Those guys didn’t get there by beating themselves up.
They got there by showing up ugly for years until it stopped being ugly.
You’re not behind. You’re early.
Early people look stupid before they look smart.
