The saying “Jo tmhare naseeb mein hai wohi milega” is true, but most people twist it into a dangerous half-truth.
Correct meaning
Naseeb = Result of your effort + Allah’s final decision Everything you get in life passes through two doors:
  1. Door of Asbaab (means/effort) → this is 100 % in your control
  2. Door of Taqdeer (Allah’s will) → this is 100 % in Allah’s control
Allah has already written what you will get, but He wrote it based on the effort you will choose to make. Your mehnat is the pen that writes your naseeb.
Example from Qur’an & Sunnah
  • Musa عليه السلام’s mother was told by Allah to put her baby in the river (that was taqdeer), but she still had to tie the basket properly and push it (that was mehnat).
  • Rizq of the bird: The Prophet ﷺ said the bird leaves its nest empty in the morning and returns full — but it still has to fly out and search. Allah guaranteed the rizq, but the wings are on the bird, not in the nest.
Why the lazy version is wrong & dangerous
When people say “jo naseeb mein hai wohi milega, mehnat ka kya faida?” they are actually saying:
→ “Allah has already decided everything, so my actions don’t matter.” This is exactly what Iblees wants you to believe. It kills hustle, excuses laziness, and turns a person into a loser who blames “qismat” for everything.
The balanced Islamic mindset
  1. Work like everything depends on your effort (because the quality and quantity of your action is your test).
  2. Make dua like everything depends on Allah (because the final acceptance is His alone).
Hadith proof:
“If you truly trusted Allah, He would provide for you as He provides for the birds — they leave hungry in the morning and return full in the evening.” → Notice: the bird still has to leave the nest!
Bottom line:
Jo naseeb mein likha hai, woh milega — lekin woh naseeb mehnat se hi likha jata hai. Lazy log naseeb ko blame karte hain. Successful log naseeb ko banate hain.
Keep grinding + keep making dua. That’s the Sunnah way. 💪🤲
