I once read a quote that said, “If your friend circle isn’t inspiring you, then it is a cage.” I truly experienced the meaning of this quote today
Ustazah came to Pakistan and we had a meet-and-greet with the admins. Since I am a future admin the teacher asked me to come and meet her, and I was selected immediately. I am very grateful for this opportunity.
When I attended, it was a completely halal meet-and-greet with all the admins. Everyone was practicing the religion and connected with the Quran. We were very relaxed and comfortable. The venue was open, behind a lawn, with full lighting, and everything was beautifully organized. I enjoyed it a lot. The food was also very good, and we all enjoyed it together.
I noticed that some people were older than me and some were younger, but everyone was a student of the Quran. There was a beautiful sense of unity. Everyone was giving good advice and sincere compliments there was no jealousy at all.
This experience helped me truly understand that quote: if our friend circle is not inspiring us or teaching us something valuable, then it holds us back. We learn religion and good values from people who come from different backgrounds, and everyone teaches something through their own journey. This is also a blessing of the Quran.
One of the effects of reciting the Quran is that it transforms a person and helps their personality grow. I have seen this change in my own sister. Before she started reciting the Quran, she did not recognize her talents, but now she does calligraphy, her speaking and communication skills have improved, and her confidence has grown significantly and many more skills allah huma barik.
I have seen people change in front of me because of the Quran. Ustazah always says that the Quran changes us from the inside. It does not only correct our nafs; it connects us with Allah. It strengthens our relationships with others and transforms our personality as well and all of this is because of the Quran.
I pray that Allah connects all of us with the Quran and makes us among the best believers. Ameen.
