Day 3 Learning Notes ~ Learn Smart Freelancing
I decided to gather and share my notes of the videos I've watched till now in one place. Writing this down helps me reflect, and maybe it can bring value to someone else too.
Start with the Right Intention
Before anything, I learned it’s powerful to start work with a Dua, a small conversation with Allah. It keeps your heart clean and your focus aligned.
Benefits of Freelancing
  • Time independence
  • Controlled workload
  • Exponential growth
  • Ego blocks learning.
  • Every project is a teacher, which means new lessons from every client.
  • Creative freedom (within client scope)
  • Global market access
Freelancing vs Traditional Jobs
  • It’s now clear who should go for jobs and who is built for freelancing.
  • I also realized you can do freelancing alongside a job if your time management is strong. I used to think this was a myth, but that was just self-doubt.
Common Freelancing Problems (and Solutions)
Finding Clients
  • Platforms: Upwork, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Discord.
Time Management
  • Work in blocks.
  • Do deep work.
  • Push non-essential tasks to the end.
  • Use apps if they help.
Skill & Security
  • Master your skill so there’s no fear of “job security.”
  • Keep learning, keep stacking new skills.
Clients & Projects
  • Always keep multiple projects to avoid client dependency.
  • Align with client time zones and deliver before deadlines.
  • Avoid burnout: say no when the workload is too much or set clear dates.
  • Communicate clearly with difficult clients, always in writing.
  • Don’t over-offer perks; tailor value to each client.
  • Educate clients when needed, then close them strong.
  • On exit, explain clearly without blame.
Personal Challenges
  • If loneliness hits, try co-working spaces or join online communities.
  • Always keep a mentor in your field to guide you.
Professionalism means no harm to you, no harm to your client.
Types of Freelance Work I’m Exploring
  • AI automation 🤖
  • Project management
  • Funnel building
  • Researching high-paying niches
  • Systems automation (Zapier, Make.com)
  • Skill stacking: one skill on top of another
How to Select Your Niche?
  • Find your ideal niche, commit to it, and act with focus.
  • Remember: every failed attempt is a stepping stone for your future growth.
I make these notes on Sticky Notes, so I can't really share a screenshot of a book or a Google Doc.
