Q1. Mental Model & Real-Life Use🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
Mental Model: First-Principles Thinking
In my own words,
first-principles thinking means breaking a problem down to its most basic truths instead of blindly following what everyone else does. It helps me understand why something works, not just how.
Real-life example:🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂
When I struggled with procrastination, instead of copying productivity routines from others, I asked myself: Why am I avoiding work?
I realized it was fear of doing things imperfectly. Once I addressed that fear, my productivity improved more than any routine ever did.
Q2. Fact vs Opinion (From a News/Social Media Claim)🕵🏼‍♂️🕵🏼‍♂️🕵🏼‍♂️🕵🏼‍♂️
Facts:🪷🪷🪷🌸
The government announced a new education policy this year.
The policy includes changes to the national curriculum.
Opinions:👩‍❤️‍👨👩‍❤️‍👨👩‍❤️‍👨👨‍❤️‍👨
This policy will completely destroy the education system.
Only useless students will benefit from this change.
Why confusing fact with opinion is dangerous:
When opinions are presented as facts, people react emotionally instead of thinking logically. This creates fear, anger, and division, and people may form strong beliefs without checking evidence or understanding the full picture.
Q3. Cognitive Bias in a Recent Decision
Bias: Confirmation Bias🤱🏼🤱🏼🤱🏼🤱🏼🤱🏼
I once chose to follow advice from someone just because it matched what I already believed, while ignoring other viewpoints.
How critical thinking could improve it:
If I had actively looked for opposing opinions and questioned my own assumptions, I could have made a more balanced decision. Critical thinking forces us to ask,
“What if I’m wrong?”
—and that question alone can save us from many mistakes.
Q4. Inverting the Question (Area: Studies)
Instead of asking “How can I succeed in my studies?” I asked:🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠
“How can I fail in my studies?”
Answers:
By procrastinating daily
By memorizing without understanding
By avoiding questions out of fear
By blaming teachers instead of improving
myself
How avoiding these improves life:🎑🎑🎑
When I avoid these failure habits, improvement happens naturally. Success doesn’t require extraordinary talent—it often just requires removing the behaviors that quietly destroy progress.
