Week 2 English Challenge ๐Ÿ”ฅ
This week, weโ€™re doing a shadowing challenge using President Trumpโ€™s AI-generated video (yes, he posted that ๐Ÿคฃ). I added both English and Portuguese subtitles to make it easier to follow along. Youโ€™ll also find the script attached below. Feel free to print it or write the lines down on a piece of paper before you start recording. Your challenge: โœ… Record all of Trumpโ€™s lines throughout the video. โœ… Then, choose ONE patient (Patient 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6) and record all of that patientโ€™s lines as well. Your goal is to imitate the speaker as closely as possible. Pay attention to: - Pronunciation - Intonation - Rhythm - Emotion Before you record, listen to my example audio so you know exactly what Iโ€™m looking for. I personally chose Patient 3. When youโ€™re finished, upload your recording here, and Iโ€™ll personally give you feedback on your pronunciation, intonation, rhythm, and overall delivery. Iโ€™m excited to hear your recordings! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ

โ€œThe Sharpest Tool in the Shedโ€
When I tell you I get all kinds of messagesโ€ฆ believe me, I really do. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Today, someone decided to insult me by saying: โ€œYouโ€™re not the sharpest tool in the shed.โ€ And honestly? It brought back a memory from when I was learning English. I used to love the song All Star (yes, the one from Shrek ๐ŸŽต), and the first line goes: โ€œSomebody once told me the world was gonna roll me, I ainโ€™t the sharpest tool in the shed.โ€ That sentence stayed in my head for YEARS because I could never figure out what it actually meant. Then I realized it doesnโ€™t have a perfect translation in Portuguese. It basically means youโ€™re not very smart, but we donโ€™t really have one exact expression that matches it. (Or maybe we do?) ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท If youโ€™re Brazilian, do we have a good equivalent? Let me know in the comments! Now letโ€™s make this fun: ๐Ÿ‘‡ Comment an idiom or expression in your native language, and let the next person reply with the closest equivalent in their language. Iโ€™ll start: Filho de peixe peixinho รฉ
