Hi! I'm Jan and I'm based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I learned to knit and crochet on my grandmother's knee and as I got older had often thought it would be nice to be able to make my own yarn to knit. About 10 years ago I mentioned this to a friend who introducted me to a lovely lady called Donna, who provided me with my first spinning wheel (Ashford Traditional) and taught me the basics. Donna became a very good friend (and enabler) until her death just over a year ago. Her husband said that he thought that she would love me to have her wheels so I inherited her four wheels (two Ashford Traditionals, a Haldane, and a Louet) as well as a few spindles. They join my original Traddie and the other two wheels I have (Ashford Traveller and a Louet folding wheel). And if that isn't enough I also have a rigid heddle loom. You could say that I've gone so far down the rabbithole that I should change my name to Alice! Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Hi I'm Char, owner of Luvin Ewe Designs LLC in St Paul, MN. We're a brick and mortar store specializing in fiber for spinning and felting. I'm looking forward to monthly Skool calls to spin and socialize. Skool calls work like Zoom. If you're in St Paul, feel free to drop in and spin in person!

Hey everyone, I am new to spinning. I have 2 wooden spindles that I got at the local Fiber Fair in Watertown, SD where I have lived 10 years too long. I have 11 children total with 8 living 7 being boys and 1 girl, oldest is 10 years and youngest is 3 months old. I run my own business, Healing for the Soul Plus since 2018. I am excited to be in this community as I really would like to learn how to use the spindles I got as the YouTube videos I did watch were more talk than show how to do it. I do know how to knit, crochet, sew and many other crafts I just don't have the time to do it as much anymore with business. Spinning I thought would be fun to learn to teach my kids to do as they like yarn too plus I need to stay in touch with de-stressors like knitting as example when I have low energy or start feeling stressed. I thought spinning may help with this as well being at the Fiber Fair all the people spinning seem so calm and enjoying themselves.
