Intro
Hi!
I'm Jan and I'm based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I learned to knit and crochet on my grandmother's knee and as I got older had often thought it would be nice to be able to make my own yarn to knit. About 10 years ago I mentioned this to a friend who introducted me to a lovely lady called Donna, who provided me with my first spinning wheel (Ashford Traditional) and taught me the basics. Donna became a very good friend (and enabler) until her death just over a year ago. Her husband said that he thought that she would love me to have her wheels so I inherited her four wheels (two Ashford Traditionals, a Haldane, and a Louet) as well as a few spindles. They join my original Traddie and the other two wheels I have (Ashford Traveller and a Louet folding wheel). And if that isn't enough I also have a rigid heddle loom. You could say that I've gone so far down the rabbithole that I should change my name to Alice!
