💸How to get a Banking Relationship Manager for less than $20💡
What's going on future millionaires, I just got off a call with one of my longest standing BRMs and I thought the story of how she and I connected might help someone.
Early in my funding career, I didn't have a lot of money or other resources to get access to the best BRMs, but what I did have was time, effort, and a good personality (lol, don't debate me on this one).
So I used what I had!
I went in person to open every one of my business checking accounts which gave me the chance to meet directly with the bankers overseeing the small business division.
One credit union in particular was a pretty small office, and the business accounts manager, was having to pull TRIPLE duty that day as a window teller, a loan underwriter, and the new accounts manager.
I saw he was stretched thin, but he was doing it all with a smile, and figuring out how to get it all done.
The next day I dropped him off a $20 KrispyKreme gift card (he had mentioned doughnuts were his weakness) and told him, how much he had inspired me to work harder in my own business.
Y'all he was SHOCKED! He said no one, especially not his own upper managers, every acknowledged his work, and that the gift card meant so much to him.
A few months later he called me up and said they were rolling out a business line of credit to competitive borrows and he wanted me to go for it.
$15,00 dollars later we both had a our first close, and celebrated with dinner ON ME lol.
The point of this story is to show you, if you can't afford $2,500 for the best Chase BRM referral, you probably CAN afford to spend some time and intentional effort on BRMs that are already in your area.
Trust me, it will ALWAYS pay off, and in the funding world, there's no such thing as too many BRMs.
