Considerations when picking a homesteading state.
One of the things we are considering while looking for a new homestead is tick borne desease. We have had 2 family members with Lyme. We live near the east coast, ticks and there deseases are spreading rapidly. The seem to have originated from Lyme Connecticut, which incidentally has a small island close to it 🤔. Here are some maps of positive Lyme cases and Alpha Gal.

If Someone Gave You a 2-Acre Property Today…
FUN QUESTION: If someone handed you a free 2–5 acre homestead tomorrow… What would be the hardest part for you? Not enough skills? Confused by zoning? Afraid of the money? Don’t know what to build first? I’m curious what feels overwhelming at the START of homesteading.

Poison in the food supply
Even in the most restrictive state in the USA they are still spraying poison directly on the food supply. The contamination in our food and water is what got us into growing our own food. We had a new little baby and the thought of me giving her something that was hurting her broke me. This is where our journey started. What about you?

Start Where You Are
“Resilience isn’t only for landowners.”Balcony gardens, rainwater collection, and food storage can all start in an apartment. Property ownership is a goal, but you don’t have to wait to prepare. 👉 What’s one step you’ve taken, even without land? Our homestead journey started on a rooftop in Hong Kong. Now we are in the Appalachian Mountains in the US. Are you serious about starting your journey?
