My first 8 - 10 months of entrepreneurship were absolute hell.
I wasn’t lazy or stupid, but I was:
- Waking up groggy and tired every single morning
- "Working" 12–16 hours/day
- Distracted constantly
- Burnt out with zero progress
- On the verge of quitting CONSTANTLY
And the worst part? I made nothing.
Since February, everything flipped.
- I’ve made over $10K in LTV ($3K+ cash collected) at 17
- I get more done in 4 - 6 hours now than I used to in 14 - 16
- I actually feel energized, focused, and in control all the time
- I've saved over 40+ hours each week
- I've built a social circle of entrepreneurs in my city and built an awesome lifestyle for myself
- I work 4–6 hours/day, and I'm making HEAPS of progress
Here’s how I did it!!
STEP 1: Lack of Work Efficiency
This is the cycle most people are stuck in (including you):
Procrastination/distraction → Stay up late to catch up on work → Sleep less → Wake up tired → Procrastinate again
You're not broken but your system is.
Here’s what actually changed my life (the work efficiency checklist):
- Plan to-do list the night before (ranked from highest to lowest priority tasks)
- Wake up and get straight to work. NOTHING else
- Wake up early (5am)
- Hoodie, dark room, white noise - this would help me to channel my focus
- Stick to 4–6 hours max of deep work per day (unless a massive project)
- Blocked every single hour of my day on Google Calendar
- No messages or notifications at all in the first few hours of the day.
That alone changed my life.
Step 2: Deteriorating Health
This is what no one talks about.
When you’re constantly tired, wired, and mentally fogged - it's not about discipline but recovery.
What I changed:
- Cut out all stimulants unless prescribed
- Limited caffeine to 1–3 mg per kg of bodyweight, and never after 2PM.
- Built a simple morning routine after not before work
- Going outside for at least a few hours a day
- Slept 7.5–8.5 hours per night consistently
This gave me the mental clarity and energy I needed to actually execute.
Step 3: Lack of Life Outside Work
This is the trap that most entrepreneurs are in (which sacrifices their life)
More work hours → more procrastination → worse sleep → worse focus → more work hours
That’s a cycle of collapse.
The new cycle I built and that HIGH PERFORMERS follow is the opposite:
Fewer work hours → zero wasted time → more lifestyle and skill-building → better work quality → fewer work hours needed
Funnily enough, the lifestyle and skill building actually increases the LEVERAGE inside your business.
Because think about it, when you're on a sales call with someone, they don't desire a "work, gym, eat, sleep" lifestyle right?
They want the social circles, social life, fun lifestyle, they live on their own terms.
Noone wants to be put into their own prison.
If you live like that, you have FAR more authority and they're going to be way more likely to buy from you to get to your position.
Plus, you'll meet so many new people, have so many more experiences and so many more insights which will actually help you MORE in business.
Here’s what I added back into my life:
- Weekly fun (social events, activities)
- Meeting new people and traveling to new places
- Working with ambitious friends
- Going to networking events
- Building my personal brand and network
- Learning new skills outside business (sales, communication)
All of this made me a better entrepreneur and a FAR happier person.
Keep crushing it! 🚀
