What if we replaced the word βpointsβ or βlevelsβ with βConnectionsβ & βConversationsβ?
You already know (or learn relatively quickly) that Skool Application uses the point system to gamify engagement & activity in the communities (see attached image)- and this can be set up with access to content as a motivational incentive. It also helps filter the tyre kickers from the people who are genuine and are open, ready, & committed to learn & grow. To get to the modules we first must attend the virtual βMeet & Mingleβ.
What is the virtual Meet & Mingle? Itβs this. The community tab where we hang out asynchronously together.
Now this isnβt the first nor the last post talking about how it works here, this is simply my experience and approach. Sometimes posts will get lost over time as newer discussions circulate. If it helps someone in its brief life - then it served its purpose.π€πΌ
Hereβs the thing, when you focus on the connection, having a conversation & forming relationship with fellow coaches, instead of points & levels - for many it creates a feeling of fun & curiosity - & can make it easier & less complicated. This means you have a more enjoyable experience as you onboard so by the time you have full access you have a support network of fellow coaches / students that get your vibe because youβve found common interests and perspectives through the initial meet & mingle.
Now at the time of writing this - in this community making 65 connections will π unlock the entire Expert Coach Course content. Just 5 connections will unlock π the Pre Transformation modules. Just 20 connections unlocks π the Transformational Coaching Session modules. From there itβs another 45 connections to make the 65 necessary to access another 4 full modules ππΌ.
For the sake of this I define a connection as engaging with anotherβs ideas or curiosities, offering support or encouragement, or asking questions that intrigue you. It doesnβt mean you have to do it 65 times. It means that by putting yourself out there - others will connect to you. You donβt even need to write your own post if itβs not your thing, instead engage with otherβs posts.
Now the step from level 3 (20 connections) to level 4 (65 connections) may sound daunting- but again itβs simply our first learning challenge helping us in practical way be better coaches. It also separates the serious from those that arenβt prepared to do the work required.
Yes, some people can feel uncomfortable initiating connections- however as coaches we are in a people centric industry - so this is a fantastic opportunity to flex those skills (even if itβs not your favourite thing to do). Itβs all learning and growing relevant skills and abilities we need to do what we are called to do - that is help people. Itβs great practice.
Remember that once you have unlocked π the Expert Coach course, then the accreditation work begins, and this is where all those connections you made will serve you ππΌ
DO the training, complete the tasks, replay modules as needed, write notes, discuss your progress and your learns with the community, practice your coaching sessions, submit your recording and required work for accreditation. β
DONβT waste the opportunity π
So feel the fear, and do it anyway.β
Hope this helps someone ππΌ
