Finish what you started
As I was going through some paperwork, I stumbled upon an unfinished manuscript. What a shameful reminder! I started writing it during the pandemic, fully intending to publish it soon after… but life happened and it never made it to the finish line.
It brought to mind a powerful Bible verse:
"Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means."
Re-edited:
I added the full version:
It is to your advantage only to be doing
What you began to do
But now you must
Complete
The doing of it.
As there was a readiness
To desire it.
So, there must be a completion
Out of what you have.
For if there is a wiling mind,
It is accepted
According to what one has and not according
To what he does not have.
(2 Corinthians 8:11,
This verse is deep, it speaks to the idea that starting with passion is good, but what matters is following through. It's Paul encouraging the Corinthians to complete the offering they had committed to, but it also applies to anything in life or purpose.
Modern reflection:
Don’t just be inspired, be intentional. Let your fire to begin turn into the discipline to complete. ✍️📖💥🔥😆
