Don’t Let the Course Replace the Calling
A writer I know, gifted, artistic, creative in a way that breathes life into words was meant to join one of my writing sessions.
But she couldn’t, as she was starting a course.
Now, I’m not here to knock the course, of course we all need skills, be it accountancy, marketing, media… sure.
There’s value in growing our toolbox.
But here’s what I’ve learned and I say this with love:
Don’t let the course become a distraction from the calling.
Sometimes we chase certificates when our soul is calling us to create.
Sometimes we hide in training because we’re scared to start.
Sometimes we keep preparing because it feels safer than becoming.
Yes, get the skills but never let them bury the spark. I’m also speaking to myself when I say this! Am I speaking to anyone else?
