Clear the space
When you need a little more than grounding to feel the space your in is clear. Whether its your office, living room, bedroom, house, a friends place. When it just feels congested and stuck this is a technique I learned when I did Deborah King's ~ Be A Modern Master program.
If you meditate, you can do this. If you do visualization, you can do this. Centering work such as breathwork...you can do this. Ots powerful yet simple.
Sit in a chair or if one isn't available stand in the centre of the room visualizing a white sheet underneath you. See the 4 corners of the sheet and now spread that to the 4 corners of the room. Deep inhale in, deep exhale out begin to rise the white sheet up collecting all the unwanted debris in the room. You are in the middle of it, it is rising up around your ankles..legs...hips..waist...chest...arms..shoulders..neck...head. All the while maintaining your easy breathing. Once it gets above your head it begins to balloon down collecting the debris in the room and from you. Keep raising the sheet up through the roof, the sky, into the stars and the ethers. Once it raises there let the sheet straighten out and ask your father sky/mother earth, angels, guides, masters, God, universe...whoever that is for you to take this debris and recycle to renew it for the good of all.
This is very effective after a difficult discussion, unexpected news, feeling like you need to get out of the space your in because it feels congested & claustrophobic. It's a very powerful exercise to help ground and feel back in your body.
I'll be using this before coaching sessions with my client. I like doing this when sage isn't a possibility (its frowned upon in the place I live currently - no incense or "smoke" of any kind, condo rules).
