Chronic Illness
How do you, as coaches, deal with personal long term illness?
I contracted covid 19 in January of 2022 and ended up having symptoms of long covid for almost a year afterward, causing chronic fatigue, brain fog, dizziness, headaches, and generally feeling like crap. The problem with long covid is that it effects the autoimmune system in the body and can periodically pop back up when experiencing other illnesses or inflammation.
Recently, I contracted an different unidentified virus that didn't match any of the tests. It hit my lungs and exacerbated my asthma, which had previously been under control. I ended up in the hospital for almost a week. My breathing is better, but the symptoms of long covid have resurfaced in the form of the fatigue, brain fog, and dizziness. Doing the simplest task is often exhausting and I find myself sleeping much of the day when my energy nose dives. Forcing myself to push forward only seems to make it worse. I have never been a high energy person to begin with, and this seems to be pushing my limits.
I'm still practicing gratitude and trying to stay positive, but this has been really difficult.
I know that some of you here have faced or currently face physical challenges, some even more demanding than what I'm currently going through. How do you get through them?
