The Shāhanshāh of Iran (Iranian Translation: شاهنشاه, Lord of Lords i.e. the Overlord) is the hereditary monarch and head of state of Iran.
The Shāhanshāh is mentioned by the Constitution of Iran 1907 as the symbol of the Imperial State of Iran and the unity of the Iranian People (Aryan People), whose position of legitimacy to lead comes straight from "the will of the people" which is the true meaning of the concept of "Divine Grace" (Iranian: فر ایزدی, Far-e Izadi) in the Iranian Political philosophy and tradition that is how national sovereignty in Iran was originally established where the Iranian People (Aryan People) grant legitimacy to their Shāhanshāh to possess the Divine Grace of the nation thereby gaining the political power to govern the country for them.
The Imperial Household Law governs the line of imperial succession to the Peacock throne of Iran.
Pursuant to the Shāhanshāh's constitutional role as a national symbol, and in accordance with rulings by the Supreme Court of Iran, the Shāhanshāh is personally immune from prosecution because of the fact the Shāhanshāh is the Commander-in-chief of the Imperial Armed Forces of Iran (the Iranian Military) thereby cannot be put aside from power unless the Iranian legislature deems the monarch to be severely incompetent like in the case of the last Qajar monarch hence then the Iranian legislature has the constitutional power then to vote for a new monarch or new dynasty altogether the way the Pahlavi Dynasty came to power.
By virtue of the Shāhanshāh's position as the monarch of Iran the only historically Zoroastrian country in the world, the Shāhanshāh of Iran although is completely secular position unlike other Monarchies in the world however is nevertheless recognized as symbolically the Shadow of God Almighty Āhurā Mazdā as well precisely like the ancient Iranian Zoroastrian Monarchs, which holds the Shāhanshāh to be the collaborating partner of Āhurā Mazdā in the here physical world while Āhurā Mazdā is the collaborating partner of the Shāhanshāh in the there spiritual world.
According to history, the office of the Shāhanshāh of Iran was officially established by the first official monarch of Iran known as Shāhanshāh Kurosh the Great of the Iranian Empire under the Achaemenid Dynasty in 550BC
Iran (Aryana) interestingly has the eldest monarchy in the world and the youngest dynasty in the world at the same time. It is the tradition of the Iranian Monarchy (Aryan Monarchy) that the Shāhanshāh itself places the Imperial Crown upon his/her own head as this is the ceremonial coronation tradition of liberal classic Iranian Zoroastrian monarchs since they gain legitimacy from the Divine Grace of their nation which is very different than the Abrahamic traditions where Jewish, Christian and Muslim monarchs are crowned by the clergy as they gain their legitimacy from the Divinity of God (not humanity itself)
