How do I know when someone marked as high spam risk is actually spammy? I want to be able to connect with people, but I recently had a hard fight evading an intense scam elsewhere, and it took a lot out of me. I'd rather not again so soon. I also understand that spam detectors can sometimes misflag people, and I don't want to miss a good connection. Are there any best practices that I should know to navigate this situation?

For a while I had 8 books out. Real books, real work behind them, decent sales even. But almost no reviews and barely any visibility. I kept wondering why they weren't reaching more people. Honestly, I think I just assumed that once a book was out there, it would find its readers on its own. Write it, publish it, done. Looking back, that was the actual problem. Having books out isn't the same as having a plan for who actually finds them. I started working with Adam a while back, and it changed how I think about the whole thing, not just writing, but what happens after. Still early days for me, but I'm already noticing a difference in how I approach things now. Curious if anyone else has been here.
