Zhuyin Phonetic Challenge—Day 12
Good morning, everyone! 👋
How has your week been so far?
Great news! 🎉You’re now learning the last group of Zhuyin sounds!!
Amazing job sticking with the challenge — you’ve come so far! 🔥
Today’s group is the medial vowels:
👉 一 ㄨ ㄩ 👈
一 (yī)
• sounds like “ee” (as in see) / lips relaxed
ㄨ (wū)
• sounds like “oo” (as in food) / lips rounded
ㄩ (yū) - one of the trickiest sounds for beginners — but don’t worry, I’ll break it down for you 😊
Step 1: round your lips
Step 2: keep your tongue flat
Step 3: say “yu” with rounded lips
👉 That gives you ㄩ
💡These vowels are called "Medial" so it can be used on their own or combined with consonants and other vowels.
