Good morning, everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹ How has your week been so far? Great news! ๐ŸŽ‰Youโ€™re now learning the last group of Zhuyin sounds!! Amazing job sticking with the challenge โ€” youโ€™ve come so far! ๐Ÿ”ฅ Todayโ€™s group is the medial vowels: ๐Ÿ‘‰ ไธ€ ใ„จ ใ„ฉ ๐Ÿ‘ˆ ไธ€ (yฤซ) โ€ข sounds like โ€œeeโ€ (as in see) / lips relaxed ใ„จ (wลซ) โ€ข sounds like โ€œooโ€ (as in food) / lips rounded ใ„ฉ (yลซ) - one of the trickiest sounds for beginners โ€” but donโ€™t worry, Iโ€™ll break it down for you ๐Ÿ˜Š Step 1: round your lips Step 2: keep your tongue flat Step 3: say โ€œyuโ€ with rounded lips ๐Ÿ‘‰ That gives you ใ„ฉ ๐Ÿ’กThese vowels are called "Medial" so it can be used on their own or combined with consonants and other vowels. ๐Ÿ”Š Listening Challenge Can you recognize the sound? Vote below !! ๐Ÿ’ฌ Question Which one feels the most confusing? ไธ€ / ใ„จ / ใ„ฉ Tell me in the comments!

Zhuyin Phonetic Challengeโ€”Day 11
Hi everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹Welcome back to Day 11 of our Zhuyin challenge. Today weโ€™re looking at the last vowel(final) sound in Mandarin: โžฐใ„ฆ-----This sound is often written as โ€œerโ€ in pinyin. Many learners get confused between ใ„œ and ใ„ฆ, because they can sound similar at first. ๐Ÿ’ก Tip Try saying โ€œใ„ฆโ€ while slightly curling the tip of your tongue back. ใ„œ (ฤ“) - relaxed โ€œuhโ€ sound. - tongue stays NEUTRAL. - ex: ้ต(ใ„œโ†—) - Goose. ใ„ฆ (รฉr) - โ€œerโ€ sound - tongue CURLS slightly back (retroflex). - ex: ๅ…’ๅญ(ใ„ฆโ†—)( ใ„—๏ผŽ)- Son. Youโ€™ll hear them in sentences like: ๆˆ‘็œ‹ๅˆฐไธ€้šป้ต(ใ„œโ†—)ใ€‚(I saw a goose.) or ๆˆ‘็œ‹ๅˆฐไฝ ็š„ๅ…’ๅญ(ใ„ฆโ†— ใ„—๏ผŽ)ใ€‚(I saw your son.) Even though ใ„œ and ใ„ฆ may sound similar to beginners, the context makes the meaning clear. ๐Ÿ”Š Listen to the audio and vote for the correct answer. Weโ€™re getting close to the end of the challenge โ€” great job sticking with it! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Here is a simple way to think about them: ใ„ž โ€” ai (like eye) ใ„Ÿ โ€” ei (like say without the โ€œsโ€) ใ„  โ€” ao (like ow in cow) ใ„ก โ€” ou (like oh) Let's listen to the audio and choose the correct answer. please tell me which sound you hear ๐Ÿ‘‚ ๐Ÿ’ฌQuestion: Which sound was the most confusing today? Tell me in the comments!

Well done, everyone! The answer is . . . ใ„œ A quick way to tell them apart is : ใ„š (ฤ) is a wide open โ€œahโ€ sound, like in "fAther". ใ„œ (ฤ“) is a relaxed โ€œuh / erโ€ sound "hER". Your mouth is not as wildly opened.
