Question to start the week
What got you interested in learning leathercraft in the first place?
Oiling before dyeing?
When I oil my veg tan it gets too dark to take a light colored dye. What is the solution to this? I want the veg to soften but I do not want the dark color I get from oiling. I like the saddle tan look, but I want to make it more supple. Am I just asking for too much, or is there a secret I’m not aware of yet.
What leatherworking skill finally ‘clicked’ for you recently?
For me, I have been learning creating my own patterns in the Leathercraft CAD program. I struggled with the math for a while but in the last 2 days it is coming much easier for me.
