Wanting advice on where to find a place to gain experience
As I am starting my journey and discovering the costs associated with working in leather, it strikes me that if I could find a place that could help me gain experience and be willing to let me work off the costs, that would be a great opportunity. What advice would you give me? (I realize that is a pretty generalized question, but hope that the essence comes through). My wife has started selling crochet items at local markets, and I have put a few items in to her table, but haven’t sold anything at this point. Here are some of the things I have done up to this point.

That is a great insight. I have been relying on my wife while she is at the craft fairs to handle everything while I handle the home front. I will look around for options on the apprenticeship idea. YouTube has been filling that role up to this point. I will check out the classes. Thanks for putting those together.
The in betweens
A few hair clips in the "in between" pile. In between more important things lol. I have been using Ed LaBarre's Oak Pattern books, it's been pretty fun his work is exceptional and my goal is to achieve his level of expertise. I really dislike the dying and antiquing process, it can make or break a project. If it were up to me everything would stay oiled and natural.

I completely understand on the dying and antiquing, that part looks amazing when you get it right and not so much when it doesn’t.
