Full disclosure, the product is nothing special (to me), and it’s not an AIOS~ it was just very easy for me to do, and I did heavily leverage AI in creating the product. Here’s the story: I created a demo of a new website for a real estate client who is quite unsatisfied with their current web developer(s). I obtained this prospect from a referral from my first client. Fortunately, I was also able to meet this second prospect in person for some initial discovery work. After a couple discovery sessions, I created an effective one-shot prompt to create most of the new website. Remaining customizations were trivial for me to implement. After I presenting it, they loved it! They were not shy about wanting to move forward with me and skip the shop around process. They also have some future work in mind after this initial project! The timeline is *very* tight (Aug 1 go-live), so I am charging them a premium for it. Future projects and a third separate referral is yet to come, but we did discuss it *all*. I’m now their go-to AI guy! There aren’t many AI-guys in their area either. These factors makes starting off small worth it to me. I think if you are talented at shipping high quality tech that solves very real business pain points, and have decent customer service skills, you need to go into business for yourself. I’ve already uncovered three distinct product offerings and business strategies from just these first two paying clients that could easily be woven into the agency I’m creating, and they will very likely will get me over $5-10k/month. It’s so easy, it feels like I’m stealing their money. I’m excited to move forward and grateful to the lessons learned and the ideas and support from the community. Cheers!
