I am leading another training tomorrow (Wednesday) on personal wellness for busy people. What are your wins so far this week in the area of leadership? Are you leading yourself and/or others well? Week 2 Focus: Controlling Input Before It Becomes Pressure
This week’s focus is not on how you respond. It is on what you allow in. Most pressure does not come from decision-making. It comes from: - too many inputs - unnecessary conversations - constant access to you By the time you are making decisions, the volume has already been set. High-level leadership is not just about response. It is about controlling what reaches you in the first place. _______________________________________________________ What To Do This Week 1. Notice what is coming at you throughout the day: requests messages conversations decisions being pushed upward 2. Identify one type of input that is unnecessary or misdirected 3. Adjust how it is handled: delay response redirect it do not engage immediately _______________________________________________________ What This Impacts - perceived pressure - cognitive load - decision quality - leadership presence _______________________________________________________ Quick Application Tomorrow, do not respond immediately to the first non-critical request that comes your way. Observe what happens when you do not automatically absorb it.

A Simple Way to Reduce Unnecessary Decision Load
Not all decisions require the same level of attention. But many are treated that way. One way to reduce unnecessary cognitive demand is to separate decisions into two categories: - decisions that require active thinking - decisions that can be pre-determined Pre-determined decisions remove the need to re-evaluate the same variable repeatedly. This creates more capacity for higher-impact thinking. Consider one decision you repeat regularly. Can it be simplified or pre-determined?

Week 1 Focus: Awareness
This week’s focus is awareness. Strong leadership begins with recognizing how you think and respond in real time. Pay attention to: - what triggers you - how your internal state shifts - how you respond - the outcomes that follow If you are working through a program, apply this within that structure. If not, observe it in your day-to-day interactions.
