I’ve been patiently waiting for this one. Pride and Dignity is something I’ve experienced others sometimes carry too much of and it can be damaging too. Thoughts?

Something that is super important to me, maybe because it was something drilled into me at a young age in the military but you must always protect your team from those that want to get at them. What does "PERCEPTION" mean to YOU in Leadership?
I often hear, "control the perception" but is this true, should a leader control the perception of what they say or should they be more aware of the perception of what they say and do and navigate with it, not against it. Or is there another take? What is your take on perception?
