Lesson 2: What’s your name? in Icelandic.
Let’s learn one simple, very useful phrase. Hvað heitir þú? = What’s your name? Pronunciation (approximate): kvath HAY-tir thoo (ð sounds like a soft th, like in this) To answer, you say: Ég heiti ___ = My name is ___ Pronunciation: yeg HAY-ti Example: Ég heiti Anna. Your turn: Write Ég heiti… + your name in the comments No rush. Take it slowly 💙
Lesson 1: Saying “Hello” in Icelandic 👋
Let’s start simple! I’m a native Icelandic speaker, and I’ll guide you step by step. Halló = Hello Pronunciation: hah-LOH (Stress on the last part) Say it out loud 3 times.
