In Denmark, every new building must meet a CO₂ limit (LCA): - 2023 → 12 kg CO₂e/m²/year - 2025 → 7.1 kg CO₂e/m²/year 👉 This is one of the strictest building rules in the world. For comparison: - Germany is only now planning a limit (around 12–15, not fully in force). - USA has no national limit (some states, like California, do). Lower number = stricter requirement.That means in Denmark we are forced to design with extremely low CO₂ – but it also removes a lot of freedom for creative, bold architecture.
