HOME RESET — DAY 2
Would you take financial advice from someone who is broke?
Would you take marriage advice from someone who has been divorced three times and is currently single?
Would you let someone coach your child in basketball who has never touched a ball in their life?
No. You wouldn't. Because there is something deeply offensive about someone telling you how to do something they have never done and are not currently doing themselves.
So let me ask you the real question today.
Why do you keep telling your children to do things you are not doing?
You tell them to calm down.
You cannot regulate your own emotions.
You tell them to clean their room.
Your bedroom looks like a crime scene.
You tell them to eat better.
You are on your third bag of chips at 11pm.
You tell them to pray.
You haven't opened your Bible in three weeks.
You tell them to get up on time.
You hit snooze four times every morning and then rush everybody out the door in a panic.
You tell them to control their attitude.
You lose yours every single day before 9am.
I am not saying this to shame you.
I am saying this because the reset has to start HERE before it can work THERE.
Your children are not following your instructions.
They are following YOU.
You are the curriculum.
So before you print one chart. Before you announce one new rule. Before you sit your children down and tell them things are going to be different around here.
You have to answer this question honestly
Am I doing what I am asking them to do?
If the answer is no that is where the reset starts.
Not with your children.
With you.
