“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” — Philippians 2:3
Let’s talk real.
We are not raising royalty in the world’s system.
We are raising servants in the Kingdom of God.
But entitlement will raise up a child who thinks the world owes them something — including you.
It shows up as:
- Ungrateful attitudes no matter how much you do
- Eye rolls when you say no
- Guilt-tripping you for enforcing boundaries
- Selfishness in how they treat siblings or authority
- Manipulating emotions to get their way
This spirit will have your child acting like Pharaoh in your house ruling without reverence, speaking without submission, demanding without responsibility.
And let’s be honest some of it is learned.
When we give without teaching value…
When we bless without teaching boundaries…
When we reward dishonor with access…
We feed the very thing we should be binding.
This isn’t about being a strict parent. It’s about being a spiritually aware one.
The enemy is after humility because humility is the foundation of honor, obedience, and worship.
If he can plant pride and manipulation early, he can hijack their ability to truly serve God.
But we’re not playing those games.
We’re not raising consumers of blessings we’re raising carriers of Kingdom character.
Today, we cut off the spirit of entitlement and loose the posture of gratitude, humility, and servant leadership.
WARFARE PRAYER:
Father, I thank You for every gift You’ve entrusted to my child but I refuse to let those gifts produce pride, selfishness, or entitlement.
In the name of Jesus, I bind every spirit of manipulation, ungratefulness, and arrogance.
I break every generational curse of pride and selfish ambition.
I cancel every seed planted by culture, social media, or my own parenting that fed a false sense of superiority.
I repent for every time I gave in to guilt instead of standing in authority.
I take back my place as the parent not just the provider, but the gatekeeper.
I loose the spirit of gratitude, humility, and honor.
I declare that my child will value what’s given and respect who gives it.
They will not manipulate …. they will minister.
They will not demand ….. they will develop.
Let their hearts be softened.
Let their spirit be postured low.
And let our home reflect the values of Your Kingdom not the culture.
In Jesus’ name Amen.
