A lot of people have mixed ideas about pilates.
"Oh its like yoga right?"
"I've heard its really hard?"
"Is that the one where you use the torture machine?"
"I don't have the core strength to do pilates"
"I have a bad back , I cant do it"
"Isn't it for old people?"
"I work out in the gym, I don't need pilates"
Well I was one of those people! I was fit and strong, I played rep sport, I worked out everyday and thought it was a "SOFT" exercise option for old people. But, the universe was out to prove me wrong. I was pushed in the direction of pilates in pregnancy and through injury that meant I could not do what I would normally do to stay fit. Along this journey I discovered that deep core stability was something worth slowing down to gain. I found improved range of motion and stability in joints that had previously caused havoc for me in my daily life and in my training. And most importantly I found the truest form of mindfulness that I had ever experienced through movement. This is why I became a Pilates Instructor.
Now I have clients in their teens to their 70's who all enjoy the benefits of pilates.
If you want to find out a little more about it, jump into the classroom and check it out.
