Israel controlling Government: Was it always gonna be this way?
Hey All,
I was reading Matthew 27 today seeking an answer to a question I had when it hit me (you’ll have to read it to see what I mean): Jesus was crucified under Roman law, but only because he didn’t truly judge for himself and do what he thought was right! Pilar had found Jesus innocent, “he knew that it was because of envy that they had handed Him over to him”. And then Pilat wrestled with trying to set Him free. But ultimately, even though Pilat KNEW the just and right thing to do - he let them use him for injustice, to kill not only an innocent Man but God in flesh, and ultimately did it to placate them because they were foaming into a riot.
This hit me hard. I’ve never thought about it like that. I was always focused on the Roman soldiers beating Him, mocking Him, and ultimately crucifying them. And/or maybe it’s because we are living through a time when we see that our own president and government is beholden to of Israel. Anyways, I’m pondering this and wondering the significance. Any thoughts?
