Top mount is in my opinion one of the most dominant positions in jiujitsu. You can choke someone or subdue someone and apply pressure to the point a bigger opponent will feel helpless. Now of course a small child might not be able to suffocate a large man but given the right coaching and direction, the small child can subdue even a larger opponent. Think of it in the aspect of David and Goliath
