Superman setup

So I am understanding the Superman setup pretty good, but I do have a clarifying question. Does the upper wick matter at all? I was eyeing this as an opportunity however the upper wick threw me off a little bit, there was a small bullish engulfing for confirmation, I didn’t place my order though because I was confused on my first validation candle into the 5 min supply. Here is a screen shot with the area circled. Your feedback is appreciated.
