Appreciating Margin Calls

Is their usually an approximate range amount for appreciating your position? Say you highly believe your maintenance margin can withstand a certain amount of enters/exits ahead, as part of your trading plan, without a call - but it doesn't, or it does until you forecasted it wouldn't, or you're just completely wrong altogether. So you want to appreciate your position is their a price range for appreciation? Is it a process and how does it work?
