Futures Typology
Is futures trading more position trading, day trading or swing trading? If it falls into one of each category what are the major differences and similarities between them?

@Mark Clarno yeah like it so far. I was just assuming there was huge differences between them as well obviously. And I was curious as to what more outside of my limited thinking there could be

Appreciating Margin Calls
Is their usually an approximate range amount for appreciating your position? Say you highly believe your maintenance margin can withstand a certain amount of enters/exits ahead, as part of your trading plan, without a call - but it doesn't, or it does until you forecasted it wouldn't, or you're just completely wrong altogether. So you want to appreciate your position is their a price range for appreciation? Is it a process and how does it work?

@Stephen Gerald Onyia Thanks. Seen that and that's definitely how I'll do it at least to start when ready. Just re-going over Step 2 this week to the point of second nature at this point. But was just curious on the live trading accounts how that works.
Range Bound vs Trending Stock
Any differences between range bound stocks & trending stocks? Are their any significant similarities we might want to know between range bound and trending stock (assuming it's not in our materials but may be something we may see in our journey). And does/do they ever apply to futures trading on SP 500? Was catching up on Trading For Dummies last night - and would rather bring it to the pros and amateurs.

Newb question
Hello all, let me clarify. 1 million % newb question lol. First thing top of my mind is, do you all trade while working a full time job? I'm a 8-5 Mon-Friday worker. Can I do this? Not gonna lie, I'm overwhelmed with what I've read as far as terms/lingo but at the same time I'm fascinated by it! My stock market experience pretty much equals just having a 401k so that tells you my newb level. I haven't dove into the classroom just yet but absolutely will be. No idea how much capital I need but if I could average 20$ per day profit I'd do back flips LOL.

I'm going to say you absolutely can. Mind you I'm new to this too and work a desk job Monday through Friday. Although debt collections is a more relaxed profession it's only temporary (though how temporary I'm not sure.) I know, from insider day trading in forex illegally did I not know from rip-off scams imposing Itau Asset, that the hours FOR THAT TYPE OF trading is Monday-Friday. Since this is futures we're both in for a learning sequence. We'll just have to take our time, focus on a thorough understanding of the course material/extra reads, then who knows. But if it comes to it I'll work nights somewhere. I'd just do the courses first - trade plan later. That's what I'm doing.
