Unity Invite - Spiritual Discernment; Moving toward Unity-Consciousness through the self
Discernment; dis·cern·ment, is the quality of being able to perceive what is not immediately visible. It is the ability to grasp what is subtle, to distinguish between truth and distortion, clarity and illusion. It is insight, wisdom, and the capacity to see beyond the obvious so that we may move through the world with awareness, rather than unconscious reaction.
It is perceived by many that we are in a time of a “great awakening.” A shifting of outdated paradigms, making space for an elevation of consciousness within our species. Personally, I do not just believe this, I trust it, and I witness it. I see it within myself, and within those closest to me, including people I once believed would remain confined to the patterns of an undeveloped and wounded ego. I see it most clearly in the people I am privileged to work with. Individuals who are choosing to turn toward themselves, to discipline, transcend, or simply begin to understand and befriend an estranged and, at times, unruly ego. Transformation is no longer a distant concept, it is happening in real time.
Alongside this awakening, there is a palpable movement within the collective. There is grief, anger, resistance, and a deep sense of disillusionment rising to the surface. Much of this is tied to systems and structures that have, for generations, conditioned us to outsource our autonomy and sovereignty, creating an internal separation from Self. We have been taught, subtly and overtly, to look outside of ourselves for authority, whether through political systems, institutionalized religion, or cultural conditioning that dictates what is acceptable, valuable, or true.
In that outsourcing, something essential has been obscured. A direct relationship to our own inner knowing. To something innate, sovereign, and whole. And as this begins to come into view, it can feel destabilizing. For many, it is as if the ground beneath them is shifting. What once felt certain now feels questionable. What once felt trustworthy is being re-examined.
We are, in many ways, moving through a collective dark night. A confrontation with the ways in which we have been influenced, shaped, and, at times, disconnected from ourselves. This recognition is not meant to induce fear, but it does ask for honesty. It asks us to see where we have deferred our power, where we have chosen comfort over truth, distraction over presence, and disconnection over responsibility.
And this is where discernment becomes essential.
Not as judgment, but as a way of moving through the world. A way of being. Discernment calls us into deeper self-responsibility. It asks us to slow down, to feel, to question, and to choose with intention. It invites us to notice where we have abandoned ourselves, where we have numbed, or where we have participated in patterns that keep us disconnected from our own truth.
As we awaken, discernment becomes a lived practice. A lens through which we engage reality with greater clarity, integrity, and self-trust. It allows us to move away from unconscious reaction, and toward conscious participation. To hold ourselves accountable, while also extending grace.
Through discernment, we begin to reestablish a relationship with our own sovereignty. We remember that we are not separate from what we seek. That the authority we have been searching for has always existed within us. And from that place, something begins to reorganize. Not perfectly, not all at once, but with intention. This is the New Human.
This Sunday, May 10th we will meet for 55-Minutes at 12pm EST to explore how to shift into Discernment. Together, we will explore discernment as the inner spiritual faculty or "soul sense" that enables humans to perceive reality beyond physical appearances, recognizing divine law and Truth. It is the ability to distinguish spiritual truth from illusion, separating divine guidance from ego-driven thoughts to understand how God, Source, Consciousness, or Divine Mother is moving in life.
We will explore...
  • Inner Sight: It is an intuitive, spiritual faculty of the mind that allows us to look through illusions and perceive the reality of divine omnipresence.
  • Distinguishing Spirit: It involves separating the "real" (spiritual truth, divine guidance) from the "phony" (illusory, worldly, or deceptive thoughts).
  • Knowing God-Mind: It is the mechanism by which one receives revelations from God-Mind or understands the "Mind of God," Chrsit-Consciousness or Oneness.
  • Beyond Intellect: While often associated with wisdom, metaphysical discernment goes beyond the intellectual "monkey mind" to a quieted state of consciousness that reveals deeper understanding.
  • Perceiving Wholeness: It is the ability to recognize that life is, in essence, spiritual substance and divine reality.
