How do you find people in your niche?

Hey guys. I just watched Alex's video on the LinkedIn 360Brew algorithm changes and I have a question about engagements.

Alex said in the video that we should engage with posts that are in our niche.

So for me, since I create websites for construction consultants, I have to engage with posts from construction consultants right?

But the thing is, I've tried searching multiple times for posts, but they all have little to no engage and are low performing. The profiles I come up as well are often not very active on the platform in terms of making posts.

I have been thinking of why I haven't gotten clients yet. I believe my profile is optimised enough, so probably it's this engagement stuff that I haven't gotten right yet?
