Always learning
Hello all. I am a R BKA (ERTL), and have been attempting powerlifting since my amputation May 2021. I am 60 years young (OG GEN X), but feel 35’ish most days. I do wish the Paralympic powerlifting was 3 lift as I will struggle to be competitive with 500+ weights on the bench. Not for lack of trying of effort 🤫.
I had my squat to 465, but struggle to break the hip crease / knee plane.
Any ideas I can pursue? I have a dedicated gym leg with a Biodapt foot. I use vacuum suspension. I just cannot seem to get that extra 2 inches of drop.
Regardless if I ever truly meet my powerlifting goals, I support and applaud any amputee that puts in any effort to make themselves stand out.
I use David Goggins quote amended to the amputee community: “Be uncommon among the uncommon”.
Thanks for the forum and the opportunity for athletes to have a place to come together.
