Tong Il "The Tul"

Social media often pushes us to focus only on what looks “perfect” and “aesthetic.” It conditions us to show only what is “presentable.” Yes, of course, the Tul could be performed more cleanly, and even that so-called “spontaneity” can be rehearsed. But the truth is, this is who we are: imperfect human beings, striving for a perfection we may never fully reach. And that’s exactly what makes the journey meaningful. We keep training, improving, sharing, and showing that growth is always possible.

P.S. I was reminding my current students how difficult — or even directly impossible — it was to learn the next Tuls in the past if there wasn’t a more advanced practitioner at the school. Different times…
