Perimenopause + Work Chaos Edition🎄
Is anyone else trying to prepare for Christmas
while their job casually changes the entire computer system,
expects peak performance,
AND your hormones are like:
“Absolutely not.”
Because same.
At work:
💻 New software
⏰ No training
📣 Everything is urgent
🧠 Brain buffering… please wait…
At home:
🎄 Gifts to buy
🍪 Cookies to bake
🎁 Christmas cheer to locate (lost since October)
In my body:
🔥 Hot flashes
😵💫 Brain fog
😤 Zero tolerance
☕ Coffee = anxiety
🚨 Cortisol = through the roof
🎅
Perimenopause Reality Check
I’m not unprepared for Christmas.
I’m just operating with:
- Less estrogen
- Less patience
- Less dopamine
- And WAY less desire to rush for anyone
If I pause before responding, it’s not attitude.
It’s nervous system triage.
🛑
Micro Stress Management (Before You Lose It at Work or Target)
Before logging in / queueing / rushing:
✔ Take ONE slow breath in
✔ Exhale twice as long
✔ Drop your shoulders
✔ Unclench your jaw
✔ Say silently:
“Nothing is on fire. I am safe.”
When the computer freezes:
🖥️ It’s not me.
🧠 It’s menopause + IT.
😌 We will survive.
When someone says “Can you just—”
🚫 No rushing
🚫 No apologizing
✔ “I’ll get to it as soon as I can.”
When your brain goes blank:
That’s not incompetence.
That’s estrogen withdrawal + stress overload.
🎄
New Holiday Rules
- If it requires rushing → NO
- If it can wait → IT WILL
- If it stresses my hormones → HARD PASS
- If I show up at all → THAT IS ENOUGH
Christmas cheer now comes in low-stimulation packaging:
🕯️ Soft lights
🧦 Cozy socks
🧠 Fewer decisions
🫶 Grace for myself
💡
The Reframe
You’re not failing Christmas.
You’re surviving December in a hormonally hostile environment.
And honestly?
That deserves a gift.

😅 And just hoping no one asks you to learn something new this week?
You’re not alone.
You’re just menopausal in December —
and that is an extreme sport. 💛🎄✨
