The Self-Compassion Break
Most people who struggle with an overactive mind also tend to be hard on themselves.
if a toddler is learning to walk and keeps falling over, you understand that it's normal.
In the same way, when we are learning to make peace with the mind, messing up is normal. It's important to learn to be kind to ourselves.
The Self-Compassion Break is a powerful 3-part practice to use for developing self-compassion.
Begin by putting your hands on your heart. Feel the warmth and comfort.
  1. Simply acknowledge "This is a moment of difficulty."
  2. Reflect " Struggling is a normal part of being human. Everybody struggles at times."
  3. Say to yourself "In this moment, I choose to be kind, loving and compassionate towards myself."
