Don't Think, Feeeeel 🙏 - Demo
Fellow GuitarWavers, This community has been so wonderful, that I've been so inspired recently that I have continued writing and recording and playing around with mixing. This idea is more towards the style that I would like to explore, the spacey-vibey kind of mood - I was hoping to try and have my stuff with only guitar, but this felt like it needed some rhythm to anchor it, but've tried to 'hide' it in the mix a little so the guitars stand out more. Thanks to @Rebecca Mardal mantra (via Bruce Lee) the whole process of writing, playing and mixing I tried not to think too much, but to feeeeel.
Future Project Endeavour - I Would Love Your Opinion 😁
Beautiful Humans of guitarwavers! For the last few months I have been considering starting an instrumental guitar project. Jumping down the rabbit of hole of instrumental guitar music I discovered @Sebastian Jautschus and his music - and here we are! I still haven't quite taken the leap to 'launch' said project as I'd like to get all my ducks in a row before hand. One of these 'ducks' is obviously, the songs! I thought this project would be a great time for me to learn more about recording and producing my music, and what better place to ask for guidance than in this very group! So if you happen to take a listen to the song, not only would I be incredibly grateful of your time but I would also welcome any tips or tricks, links or otherwise on how I can improve. Some things I should point out, in case you do listen - - I recorded through my HX Stomp into Logic. The reverbs, with the exception of on the improvised lead that runs through the song, are all on the HX Stomp - so I can't edit :P whoops! I could record the tracks again though. - The song itself came quite quickly, you'll hear its not an ambient track but more of a rhythmical track with some ambient textures to fill it up - so I don't know if this would actually be a song I would release in the future. I went into it recording the idea, going with what felt right and then trying to explore the mixing process. Regardless of whether you listen or not, I hope you are all having a lovely day 😁 If you DO listen, thank you and I can't wait to get chatting with you all about music, mixing, tones, reverbs, delays, and all that tasty stuff! Freddie 🙏
Putting cool inspiring video links we all discussed here. I look forward to seeing ones that you all like too. There is so much serendipity in sharing our love of guitar and instrumental music.
The first link is Hermanos Gutierrez sharing their influences. I like subscribing to these types of channels. https://youtu.be/CwaRBtorP64?si=fxwCieFjSwqHGlgT This is a cool link to Santo and Johnny and their hit song sleepwalking who I didn't realize influenced the Gutierrez Bro’s sound until watching the preceding video. https://youtu.be/2rwfqsjimRM?si=kxxwdV6oUXbX2NG1 The last ones are links to Hvetter who I really would love to see on the next podcast or guitar waiver meetup. I would love to put out loops videos like this one day. https://youtu.be/GxdAqDC9sHw?si=VMu01UY-yE5He2vf This is a playlist of this talented busking/looping guitarist who Insuspect is still on the rise: https://youtu.be/GxdAqDC9sHw?si=VMu01UY-yE5He2vf
content inspo library (sneak peak)
in yesterdays call, the wish for a shared library with successful short form content from other instrumental artists came up. I've been saving these every time I stumble upon one online. with their help I'm trying to raise my content game by objectifying the process. here's a little sneak peek into the notion board I'm currently building for the community. any wishes, ideas, ideas are very welcome! I'm planning to also add a “why this works” column and (if I manage to figure out how) a rating system so the formats that work very well rise to the top of the library.
