Today is the first time in a month the land has been dry enough to walk on , and with all the rain the veg patch has grassed over. So I gave it a couple of cuts with the lawnmower, broad forked it and covered with a heavy tarpaulin, to maintain the moisture and help it warm up.

Nothing tastes like food straight from the garden, I'm a great believer that food is only fresh 15min from picking, after that it begins to dégradé. When our et children were et small their favorite food was fresh asparagus, put the pan to boil , walk to the to garden and back, pop it in boiling water 2min , on to the plate and add homemade salted butter. That's living the good life !
