Swimming in a waste stream
One of the best resources in urban areas is what people throw away and untapped skills or knowledge. In rural communities much less is discarded and items hold their value longer, including knowledge and experience.
Reusable materials are needlessly thrown away every day, old crafts die and local history lost, due to lack of interest. Mainly this is due to the lack of it connection between those who have and those who need or want.
Community connection can reduce waste.
