New to mushroom growing? Start with this!
If you’re brand new to growing mushrooms, here’s the simplest way to start without getting overwhelmed: - Pick ONE species. Oyster mushrooms are the easiest and most forgiving. - Start with a kit or pre-made block. Don’t jump straight into agar, grain, or lab work. - Focus on humidity and fresh air. These matter more than temperature for beginners. - Expect mistakes. Everyone screws up early; that’s a part of the process. If you’re unsure where to start, comment below with what you’re interested in growing and I’ll point you in the right direction.

Welcome!
Welcome! I’m Corey, and I’ve been growing mushrooms since 2009. What started as a hobby quickly became a passion, and I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with you. This community is for beginners and hobby growers who want to learn how to grow mushrooms the right way. Using simple, proven methods without confusion. Here’s how to get the most out of this community: 🍄 Introduce yourself - Tell us your experience level, what you’re hoping to grow, and where you’re at in the process. Bonus points if you share a photo of your setup or workspace. 🍄 Ask questions in Questions & Help - No question is too basic. Asking early and often is how you learn faster. 🍄 Share photos and updates in Grow Logs & Progress - This is a very visual craft. Photos and short videos help everyone diagnose and learn together. 🍄 Post wins and breakthroughs in Wins & Learnings - First pins, first harvests, lessons learned — share it all. It helps others more than you realize. Don’t overthink it! Jump in, ask questions, and be part of the conversation. I’m glad you’re here. Let’s grow!
