Grateful to be human, and not a bird

As I watch my animals lose their little minds over the birds outside I thought of the question I asked a client the other day (I'm a therapist) "what animal would you want to come back as if reincarnation was real?", she said "a bird, they are so free". I agreed with her, plus sounded poetic as f*ck.

But right now I'm watching all these birds hanging on by dear life to the trees trying to survive the 34mph winds and that doesn't look very freeing to me.

She asked me the question back and I said "a house cat, not a street one". I cat with privilege, not as poetic but pretty cool if it happened tbh 🙃

So anyways, as I was writing this it was going to be something about being grateful to be human and not a bird, because I'm just struggling for dear life but in bed with cozy blankets and two Kuromi plushies so who am I to say anything I guess.

But now I just wanna know what animal you'd want to come back as? and why not a cat born with privileges?
