Want more Google reviews?
If you want more Google reviews without getting yourself into a policy mess, it comes down to one thing: make it steady and make it real.
As you know ive built a $79 course that takes you through this and has helped 100s of business get consistent reviews - its here for members without charge
The big mistake I see is businesses chasing a spike of reviews, or leaning on old reviews from years ago, and then wondering why nothing moves.
Google mostly cares about what’s happened recently, and “recent” is basically the last 90 days.
So you can have 500 total reviews, but if none of them are new, they’re not doing much for you right now.
A simple target is one new review a week, every week, because consistency beats bursts.
Here’s what that looks like in the real world.
  • You finish a job, the customer’s happy, and you send a quick link.
  • If they leave a one-liner, it helps a little, but if they mention what you did, where you did it, and why they’re happy, Google understands your business better—and you tend to show up more.
  • Bonus points if they upload a photo, because that’s even more useful context.
The easiest way to keep it compliant and consistent is to automate the ask.
Set up an automatic review request that goes out after the service, to every customer, the same way, with no pressure and no weird script.
That removes the “I forgot to ask” problem, and it avoids the manipulation problem too, because you’re just making it easy for happy customers to leave honest feedback.
At the end of the day, Google isn’t trying to punish good businesses.
They’re trying to filter out fake reviews.
If you focus on steady growth, authentic detail, and a simple automated system, you’ll stay on the right side of policy and keep your rankings strong on Google Maps.
