Simple Steps to Erase Fake Reviews, No Stress, No Drama
Ever had that sinking feeling when a 1-star review pops up, one you know is fake, but it’s from a so-called ‘Local Guide’ with a badge and all? - They’re counting on that badge to make their review stick. - Most people panic, reply, or try to explain themselves. - But here’s the twist! That’s exactly what you shouldn’t do! I’ve been there. A fake review landed on my page, complete with ‘Local Guide’ stars to make it look legit. I felt the urge to defend myself, to set the record straight. But instead, I did… nothing! Well, almost nothing. Here’s my exact method: 1. Don’t reply. Don’t give them attention. 2. Report the review. Just state what actually happened, no drama. 3. Walk away. No emails, no notifications. Just check back in a few days. Result? The review was gone in less than 12 hours. WHAT IF IT DOESN’T WORK? But what if you did reply? Or what if you’re still stuck with a bad review? Or maybe you just want more real, glowing feedback? Good news, I’ve made a full workshop that walks you through every step, plus how to get a steady flow of genuine 5-star reviews that actually help you rank. @Diven Laxman Massive welcome, great to have you in here I took a look at both sites and honestly, the photography is exceptional. The cinematic style, the emotion, the storytelling, that’s already at a very high level. You’ve clearly put serious work into how you present it and the website is a great advert for your work, so that is a great start. That actually puts you in a strong position for Google, because the hardest part (having something worth ranking) is already handled. Now it’s about turning that quality into consistent visibility and enquiries. A couple of quick thoughts based on what you said: 1. You’re in the right place for Google growth Your goal of building consistent UK visibility is exactly what I focus on here especially for service-based businesses like yours. 2. Expectation setting (important) Google Business isn’t usually instant, especially in competitive spaces like wedding photography. What we’re aiming for is momentum, the Google Ranking Accelerator will help build that , hjust go to my courses area and follow the process, t really works. Once things start moving (reviews, activity, relevance), it compounds. Most people quit just before that happens, so consistency is the edge. 3. Biggest opportunity I see for you straight away. Your brand and visuals are brilliant, we want your Google profile to reflect that same level. So that means: - Positioning (how you describe your service) - Review strategy (this will be huge for you) - Photo + content signals - Location relevance (especially since you operate across regions) We’ll break all of that down step-by-step inside. 4. Getting you involved quickly If you’re open to it, I’d start here: - Drop your Google Business Profile link in the group - Share your current goal (e.g. more bookings, specific locations, higher-end clients) I (and others here) can give you direct, practical feedback you can act on straight away. I really like that you mentioned storytelling. That’s a big differentiator, and we can absolutely leverage that in how your profile shows up.

Great mindset Diven, and is exactly how you want to approach it. The profile is looking good, i can see you have already applied a lot of what i teach and it might be worth monitoring it, do you use a heatmap to measure its success? What you said about using your profile as a filter, not just a lead generator, is spot on. Most people try to get more enquiries, but you’re trying to get better ones, and that changes how we optimise everything. A couple of thoughts after looking at your direction and profile. Ideally the other option is i have a 1-1 where we actually work through it directly with me, this may be a great investment if you arent getting anywhere, but certainly give it a go first Right now, your visuals already scream “high-end”, but Google doesn’t fully understand that yet so our job is to translate your storytelling into signals Google can read. That mainly comes down to 3 areas: Photos is a big one for you, though the competion are going to be hard to compete against unless you can show you do something different. Instead of just uploading beautiful images, think what photos would show “story” Maybe grouped and uploaded consistently, this starts telling Google what you specialise in, not just that you take nice photos. This is a lot easier to do on the website, but anything that helps say story telling will help set you apart even on the services area might be a way of getting that clearly put across and of course using customer reviews to post a photo set that shows the story, all these are ways of trying to set you apart. With Reviews (this will be your biggest area to progress) For high-end positioning, reviews need to reflect:→ experience→ emotion→ professionalism→ not always price Even a small number of well-worded reviews like that can completely shift who reaches out. Customer videos and photos will rocket the ranking impact over time. Consistent reviews rather than numbers and ratings seems to b rewarded at the moment You’re in a strong position already, now it’s just about building the right signals and giving it a bit of time to compound.
Been Hit by a Google Update? Here’s What You Need to Know!
Did your rankings take a hit after the latest Google core update? You’re not alone and you’re probably wondering: What now? Here’s the facts (straight from Google): - There’s no magic fix if your site drops after a core update. - A drop doesn’t always mean you did something wrong. - Google suggests reviewing their list of questions if you’ve been affected. - Some recovery can happen before the next update, but the biggest changes usually come after another core update. The #1 tip direct from Google team: Create content that’s genuinely helpful for people, not just for search engines. “There’s nothing new or special to do for this update if you’ve been making satisfying, people-first content.” – Google My question for you. Have you ever been hit by a Google update? What did you do? Did you change your strategy, or double down on what was working? 👇 Drop your experiences, tips, or questions in the comments! Let’s help each other out and share what’s working (and what’s not) in this ever-changing SEO world.

Been Hit by a Google Update? Here’s What You Need to Know!
Google Profile Disabled
One of my clients, (HRG Services Ltd) is having an issue with their Google Business Profile, the video verification was rejected due to the first video not fitting what we required, they attempted a second video by opening the office site but we don't have any signage there as it's just an office area, our accounts team are based there. Since trying the second video our account has been disabled. We appealed this and uploaded our Company's House registration to this location but this was denied and our account remains disabled. Due to the account being disabled we are no longer able to edit to just be an "SAB", when the appeal was denied we were told we would receive an opportunity to upload another video (Tuesday 26th March) but this still hasn't come through yet. I'm going to send an email over to businesssupport@google.com and also into the Google Community Forum in hopes of an expert taking pity on us! Will update things as I go but any advise or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

Pearls of Wisdom or my ramblings?
The other day in preparation for a new video i wrote down a few lessons and ideas Do you have any pearls of wisdom that you can share here are a few i jotted down lately: - Google’s Secret Rulebook: Imagine being handed a Google pass that lets you peek inside their filing cabinet. Well, the Quality Rater Guidelines are just that—Google’s own playbook for ranking websites. If you haven’t checked them out, you’re missing a goldmine. - The Wheel of Trust: Think of your Google Business Profile (GBP) as the hub of a wheel. Every mention, citation, and review is a spoke leading back to you. The more solid your wheel, the more trust you build—with Google and your customers. - Direct Line to Google: What if you could ask Google to rank your business—no phone call needed? Here are five things you can do today that get real results: + Keep your GBP updated + Gather fresh reviews and reply + Make sure your info matches everywhere online + Post regular updates or offers + Answer customer questions quickly - If it works, keep doing it: Sometimes the best move is to double down on what’s already working. Remember when Google Ads were new and cheap? Those who jumped in early saw huge returns. The lesson: don’t ignore what’s working just because it isn’t shiny and new. Your Turn! I’d love to hear from you: What’s your #1 tip for getting noticed on Google? Have you tried something that worked (or flopped)? Hit reply and let’s swap ideas. Looking forward to your tips!
