Is your Google Business Profile ready for summer, or is it about to leave customers locked out and looking elsewhere?
Summer can be a goldmine for local service businesses… if your online presence is tuned in. But most owners miss out because they forget to:
- Update their holiday hours (and lose business to “Closed” signs)
- Tell Google about their summer specials or events
- Keep their profile fresh and active (Google loves businesses that stay current!)
So just follow this GBP Game Plan:
1. Confirm Holiday Hours
Don’t let a missed update cost you a customer. Double-check your Google hours for July 4th, Labor Day, and any other summer holidays or special events. If you did this for Memorial Day, you’re ahead of the game, but don’t stop now!
2. Publish Events & Promotions
Running summer specials, new services, or local events? Post them directly to your Google profile. If Google doesn’t know, your customers won’t either.
3. Consistently Optimize
The businesses that win on Google are the ones that keep things fresh.
- Upload new photos
- Ask for recent reviews
- Publish posts about what’s new
- Update your services and info regularly
All these signals tell Google you’re active, and help you show up higher in local searches.
